Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Property Underwriter to join their dynamic North American team. Position Overview:
As a Senior Property Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in managing a diverse and complex property portfolio. You will be responsible for driving the growth of the portfolio, ensuring risk selection and pricing are aligned with business objectives, and maintaining long-term client relationships. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the continued success and development of a top-tier Lloyd’s Syndicate.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwrite a broad range of property risks within North America, including commercial, industrial, and real estate sectors.
Conduct thorough risk analysis and provide pricing and terms in line with the syndicate’s underwriting guidelines.
Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, and industry stakeholders.
Work closely with the claims team to assess risk exposure and make strategic decisions.
Stay current on market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure a competitive edge.
Mentor and develop junior underwriters and provide strategic insight to senior management.
Contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the syndicate's property book.
Skills and Experience Required:
At least 7+ years of experience in property underwriting within the North American market.
In-depth knowledge of property underwriting, including risk assessment, pricing, and negotiation.
Strong understanding of the Lloyd’s market and syndicate structure.
Proven track record in managing large and complex portfolios.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with key stakeholders at all levels.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
A relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACII, CPCU) is highly desirable.
