Underwriting Assistant - Exposure Management

Arthur have partnered with an incredibly sucessful Underwriting Agency on the search for an Underwriting Assistant. This position will sit equally within Exposure Management and Underwriting Assistance and cover responsibilities across disciplines such as Catastrophe Modelling, Exposure Management reporting and Underwriting Assistance. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent numerical skills and the ability to confidently analyse large data sets. Advanced Excel skills are essential for this position. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Performing underwriting assistance by extracting client data.
• Analysing data using database reporting and bespoke analytical tools.
• Liaising externally with the broking community.
• Administration in support of the underwriters.
• Exposure Management reporting and the calculation of loss estimates. 
• RDS Reporting.
• Catastrophe modelling and data analysis to support reinsurance.
• Ad-Hoc project work. 

The ideal candidate will have: 

• An excellent academic background with a degree in Mathematics, Geography, Earth Sciences or a similar discipline. 
• Advanced Excel skills.
• A-Level Mathematics is desirable. 
• Experience in coding (SQL, R, VBA).
• Clear communication skills.
