Underwriting Business Planning & Analytics Manager

Arthur is exclusively partnered with a Lloyds Syndicate who is hiring an experienced Underwriting Business Planning & Analytics Manager.
 
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for generating analytical insights, overseeing business intelligence, and managing day-to-day reporting related to underwriting. You will work closely with senior leadership including the Head of Underwriting Management & Reinsurance and Chief Underwriting Officer to drive strategic planning and enhance the syndicate's performance.
 
Key Responsibilities
 

• Oversee the creation and coordination of the annual business plan, including the SBF submission to Lloyd’s and managing required re-forecasts.
• Support senior management in evaluating underwriting performance across various lines of business.
• Collaborate with senior management to refine strategic assumptions and continuously enhance the business planning model for greater agility and precision.
• Develop and maintain dynamic performance dashboards in Excel and Power BI to support data-driven decision-making.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with submissions such as PMD, while consistently delivering robust management information tailored to user needs.
• Design and implement comprehensive management information systems across underwriting and claims functions.
• Analyse market statistics, benchmarks, and competitor data to drive strategic decision-making.

A high level of proficiency in advanced Excel, including pivot tables, is essential, and experience with Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SQL is highly desirable.
 
Candidates must have previous experience in underwriting performance, planning, actuarial, or finance ideally within the Lloyd's market.
