Underwriting Governance Partner

Arthur is partnered with a leading Lloyd's syndicate who is hiring an Underwriting Governance Partner.
 
This role sits within the first line underwriting support function, responsible for maintaining and strengthening underwriting controls across the syndicate. In this position, you will:
 

• Design and maintain first line of defence frameworks and processes.
• Analyse governance and control reports relating to underwriting authority and peer reviews.
• Track and report on control adherence, trends, and remediation actions.
• Partner with underwriters to provide independent challenge and guidance.
• Prepare and present reports to underwriting and legal entity committees.
• Support and monitor independent review actions and outcomes.
• Maintain and update underwriting controls documentation and training materials.
• Maintain accurate records and audit trails for exception reporting.
• Contribute to strategic projects and initiatives within underwriting governance.

 
You'll bring experience in underwriting governance, control frameworks, or risk management within insurance. With strong analytical and problem-solving skills, you communicate effectively and build strong stakeholder relationships.
 
A solid understanding of key regulatory frameworks such as SMCR, Solvency II, and Lloyd’s standards is required.
