It’s recently come to our attention that there have been attempted scams offering candidates remote work by individuals impersonating Arthur consultants on Whatsapp. We want to ensure you are aware of potential job scams and be vigilant of any suspicious messages.

Below are some signs to help you spot a job scam:

  • Our consultants will not contact you via Whatsapp on first contact unless we’ve spoken before and have an existing relationship. Initial contact will always be via an email address containing @arthur.co.uk or via LinkedIn.
  • Be aware of unknown or suspicious contact details. We will also only use local UK numbers, not foreign phone numbers.
  • Be cautious of job offers without an interview.
  • Look out for vague messages with poor spelling and grammar.
  • Being asked for money. Arthur will also never ask candidates for any payment details, we do not charge candidates any fees.

If you receive a suspicious message, please do not respond or click on any links, block the scammer, flag the message as spam and report within Whatsapp. You can also update your privacy and security settings in Whatsapp to control who sees your information and enable two-step verification to better secure your account. For more information about protecting yourself from job scams on Whatsapp, please read their guidance here.

If you have received a message which you suspect is a scam or unsure of a message received from a purported recruitment consultant from Arthur, please forward the message to privacy@arthur.co.uk.

Please note that Arthur cannot be held liable for any claims, damages, or losses resulting from or in any way connected to the actions of the scammers mentioned above.
