A reputable Lloyd's Insurer and Syndicate is seeking a Financial Lines Claims Handler to join their highly regarded claims department based in the heart of the Lloyd’s Insurance market. As a Financial Lines Claims Handler you will be responsible for handling claims that occur out of their Financial Lines classes. You will be expected to ensure the proper servicing and settlement of claims within your designated authority. Working in collaboration with Senior Handlers and Claims Managers whilst at all times maintaining the highest standard of technical file handling and customer service.
 
 
Your Role:
  • Manage, assess and adjust assigned claims, ensuring that coverage is accurately accessed, and file reserving is correctly set / maintained
  • Proactively manage claim files ensuring all documentation is correctly filed and claims are regularly updated, diaries and managed proactively
  • Ensure that claims are handled promptly, fairly and with integrity in accordance with the companies claims management guidelines
  • Work closely with claims management and other team members as required on individual claims
  • Maintain portfolio of Financial Lines TPA/DCA loss bordereau and payments
  • Receive mentoring and coaching from experienced senior claims handlers / claims managers
  • Maintain the highest standards of communication with claims management and underwriting to ensure that information on significant claims and claims trends is shared expeditiously
  • Ensure large loss information is shared promptly and large loss reports are issued appropriately
  • Liaise with other departments as appropriate including but not limited to Underwriting, Finance, Actuaries and Reinsurance
  • Attend market claim meetings as required
  • Liaise with brokers, stake holders and policy holders as required
  • Assist with reinsurance issues as required
 
Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Relevant Financial Lines claims handling experience
  • Working Knowledge of ECF2
  • Willingness to continue to develop knowledge of Insurance and related issues through formal and informal learning / exams
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with internal and external customers
  • Working knowledge of general insurance and its underlying principles
  • Knowledge of FCA / PRA and Lloyd's rules and guidelines
