Arthur are partnered with a reputable Lloyd's Managing Agent in their search for a Head of International Compliance.

The Head of International Compliance is responsible for leading and overseeing the Managing Agent’s compliance framework across all non-UK jurisdictions in which the Lloyd’s syndicate operates.

You will lead on Compliance advisory for all of the global entities and liaise with internal stakeholders to best convey the importance of regulatory adherence. 

Key Duties
  • Ensuring that regulated individuals perform regulated activities in accordance with the regulatory permissions of the relevant legal entity.
  • Managing hird-party vendors to ensure the delivery of effective and cost-efficient compliance-related services.
  • Supporting the design and implementation of periodic compliance risk assessments.
  • Assisting the Group Head of Compliance on projects requiring international compliance input, particularly in support of business development initiatives.
  • Supporting the implementation of Group-wide compliance standards and protocols, and liaise with and assist the Group General Counsel as required.
  • Enhancing and evolving an International advisory plan including an international compliance framework, assisting on the development of a compliance plan encompassing tech governance.
  • Assisting with the business planning process from a compliance perspective and ensuring reg developments are considered when planning takes place.
  • Being the point of escalation for international compliance, tech governance and cross-border matters.
  • Developing in-depth comprehension of the Group’s operations, customers and plans, and lead in developing and implementing various measures necessary for embedding compliance throughout the Group. This includes designing, writing and implementing frameworks,

About You
  • You must be an experienced compliance professional with demonstrable experience in supporting insurers (preferably Lloyd's Managing Agents) across multiple territories
  • Ability to build a strong rapport with a range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrable line management experience.
  • Experience of leading strategic change.
  • Good understanding of US and Bermuda regulatory requirements.

Exclusively working with a leading (re)insurance broker who are seeking to hire a Senior Counsel. The role will support both the centralised legal function and lead the firm's Trade Credit, Political Risk and Surety division from a legal perspective. This is a highly varied reserving position reporting into the Head of Reserving and working closely with the Chief Actuary and various other teams within the business such as Capital, Finance and Underwriting. This is a non-regulatory role helping with reviewing, improving and implementing reserving processes for UK and US with clear progression and ownership over work, including opportunities to present at board.  Our client are looking for a part to nearly qualified actuarial analyst with 2 years of reserving experience, and an understanding of the impact and importance of the work they do. This would be well suited to someone in consulting looking to move into industry and still wanting a breadth of work. This role will require you to be in the office 3 days a week in London and our client can only consider UK based individuals with full working rights.

Tax Manager – 15-month Fixed Term Contract Insurance London | Hybrid (2 days office based) £75,000 – £85,000 (could stretch for an absolute superstar) An established insurance brokerage is looking to hire a Tax Manager on a 15-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. The role sits within a well-established Group Tax function and will work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong UK corporation tax experience, comfortable operating in a regulated environment, and able to manage external advisers and BAU tax obligations with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities: Ensure compliance with UK corporation tax obligations, including review of returns prepared by external advisers and quarterly instalment payments Support compliance for overseas corporate tax obligations alongside the International Tax team Manage relationships with external tax advisers Prepare UK tax provisions and disclosures for statutory and management accounts Support transfer pricing compliance and related documentation Assist with responses to HMRC queries and tax authority engagement Monitor and report tax risks into internal governance forums Maintain tax policies, tax strategy documentation, and the tax calendar Prepare UK VAT returns and support Making Tax Digital processes Provide practical tax advice on business transactions as required About you: ACA / ACCA qualified Strong UK corporation tax experience Background in a regulated financial services environment (insurance, banking, asset management, etc.) Comfortable managing advisers and working autonomously VAT and transfer pricing exposure beneficial but not essential
