Arthur are working with a highly reputable Lloyd's of London firm that are looking to expand their finance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Liquidity Cash flow monitoring (past and future), Internal reporting to Risk and senior management Contact point and admin for Performance Oversight Working Group  
  • Banking Facility Oversight and Management Ensure paperwork and covenants are up to date Internal reporting to Risk and senior management
  • Projects Manage the delivery of cross syndicate projects across the business and ensuring actions are completed and followed up.
  • Supporting Syndicate Reporting To provide support to the team, as required, to meet Lloyd’s submission deadlines
  • Onboarding Liaise with Business Development for the financials of (prospective) new clients Liaise with banks to ensure documentation and Know your Customer (KYC) completion runs smoothly
  • Expenses and Interest Liaise with Syndicate Accountants to provide monthly expense and investment return reports to management
  • Providing Non-Tech balances to Ops for use in internal board summaries
  • Banking Admin Main point of contact for online banking enquiries 
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Qualified in a professional qualification or qualified by experience is preferable.
  • Familiarity and experience of Insurance or company analysis. With an FP&A or Treasury background.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems including Excel, Vision and Sun Accounts.
  • Highly numerate and ability to produce consistently accurate and analytical work to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.

Senior Legal Counsel - Credit & Political Risk

Exclusively working with a leading (re)insurance broker who are seeking to hire a Senior Counsel. The role will support both the centralised legal function and lead the firm's Trade Credit, Political Risk and Surety division from a legal perspective. As Senior Counsel, you will be responsible for: Policy Wording Drafting & Review across Political Risk, Surety & Credit Risk. Providing guidance to clients on policy wording compliance and coverage issues, related to Basel directives. Assisting on claims and restructuring of policies. Supporting on complex financing arrangements and documentation. Supporting the central legal function across commercial contracts and regulatory advice. Providing education, training and support on relevant legal issues to the wider business. Running litigation matters and liaising with external counsel when needed. The successful candidate must be a qualified lawyer with at least 10 years PQE, with strong experience in Private Practice and In-House. Strong experience of Insurance Law, particularly in the Credit/Surety space is essential. A very attractive salary and package (bonus up to 30%) and other great benefits are on offer. This role is a hybrid position, typically 3 days a week in the office.

This is a highly varied reserving position reporting into the Head of Reserving and working closely with the Chief Actuary and various other teams within the business such as Capital, Finance and Underwriting. This is a non-regulatory role helping with reviewing, improving and implementing reserving processes for UK and US with clear progression and ownership over work, including opportunities to present at board.  Our client are looking for a part to nearly qualified actuarial analyst with 2 years of reserving experience, and an understanding of the impact and importance of the work they do. This would be well suited to someone in consulting looking to move into industry and still wanting a breadth of work. This role will require you to be in the office 3 days a week in London and our client can only consider UK based individuals with full working rights.
