Financial Accountant

A role you will love This role contributes to ensuring the month-end processes are run in an efficient and effective manner, that the group timetable is met and our outsources deliver against its SLA’s and KPIs. The role is responsible for accounting processes; preparation of manual journals, review of sub-ledger accounting processes prepared offshore, and month end close reporting to group.

The successful individual will ensure that there is clear, complete and accurate documentation that covers all the relevant deliveries defined in the project scope and will support the team with the on-time completion of deliverables and governance.

Key responsibilities
  • Preparation of manual journals for the month end financial close to agreed month end timetable and group playbook requirements in Oracle.
  • Monitor the quality and timeliness of offshore sub-ledger transaction processing. This will include quality assurance reporting and feedback to management
  • Preparation of accounting processes such as balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations to agreed month end timetable and group playbook requirements.
  • Support the integrity of balance sheets; ensuring any queried items are managed on an ongoing, timely basis.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within scope of work.
  • Respond to queries from key stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
 
What will you bring to the role? This opening requires a finance professional with 1-4 years’ experience in an accounting role, ideally from a large, complex and global business. On the job training will be provided, but it is essential to have knowledge of accounting standards and financial accounting terms.

Key attributes
  • Maintaining and reviewing excel based reports, producing reports and journal calculations, reviewing reconciliations and analysing information, as well as suggesting process improvements.
  • Ability to perform your tasks efficiently, accurately and effectively is critical in this role as there are several deadlines. The role will be responsible for meeting these deadlines, providing timely support to the offshore team and supporting the team in meeting deadlines.
  • Addressing any month end issues with sound resolutions using your well-developed accounting knowledge and skills
  • Experience of using complex financial systems (Oracle EBS essential) alongside MS Office and Excel are a must.
  • Strong communication skills are required as this role will involve partnering with numerous internal and external stakeholders, including tax, audit and our offshore team amongst others
