This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead the organisation's external data enrichment capability, owning relationships with data providers and identifying new opportunities to unlock commercial value through third-party data.

Working closely with Pricing, Underwriting, Data Science and senior business stakeholders, you'll become the go-to expert for external data partnerships, helping shape long-term strategy while influencing key commercial decisions.

The role offers exceptional flexibility, with predominantly remote working and a minimum expectation of just two office days per month.

Why join?
  • Lead and shape a strategically important function with significant visibility across the business
  • Own relationships with leading external data providers and influence the future data strategy
  • Drive commercial innovation through the identification and adoption of new data solutions
  • Work for a financially strong, forward-thinking insurer investing heavily in analytics and technology
  • Excellent work-life balance with largely remote working
  • Competitive salary, bonus and comprehensive benefits package
This is a commercially focused leadership role centred around identifying, evaluating and delivering new external data opportunities that enhance pricing sophistication and business performance.
Rather than being a hands-on technical position, you'll act as the bridge between external data providers and internal business teams, ensuring the organisation is making the best possible use of emerging data sources.
ether technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver tangible business value.

You'll likely have:
  • Experience working within insurance pricing, underwriting or analytics, with a good understanding of personal lines pricing
  • A strong academic background in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or a related field
  • An appreciation of statistical analysis and how external data can improve pricing and underwriting performance
  • Experience managing relationships with external suppliers, partners or data providers
  • Confidence leading commercial discussions, supplier negotiations and contract conversations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the business
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Previous leadership or people management experience would be advantageous
Technical experience with tools such as SQL, Python or R is beneficial, but this is not a hands-on modelling role. The emphasis is on understanding how data can create commercial value, leading supplier relationships and delivering strategic outcomes.

This opportunity would suit someone from insurance pricing, underwriting analytics, data strategy or commercial analytics who enjoys working with external partners, influencing business strategy and identifying innovative ways to use data to improve commercial performance.

If you're looking for a highly visible role where you'll shape external data strategy, lead key supplier relationships and influence the future direction of a growing insurer, we'd love to hear from you.
