A leading global financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Application Support Manager to join its Technology function and take ownership of a portfolio of business-critical Front Office applications.

This is a high-profile role responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, availability and continual improvement of applications that support core business operations. Acting as the key link between business stakeholders, technology teams and third-party suppliers, you will play a critical role in delivering operational excellence and a first-class support service.

The Role You will be responsible for the operational ownership of a portfolio of enterprise applications, ensuring services remain stable, secure and aligned to business requirements.
Working closely with business users, technology teams and external vendors, you will lead major incident management, oversee change and release activities, drive service improvements and ensure application services continue to meet agreed operational and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the operational support and service performance of business-critical applications.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for application-related incidents and service issues.
  • Lead major incident management activities and coordinate technical teams, suppliers and business stakeholders.
  • Drive root cause analysis and problem management initiatives to reduce recurring issues.
  • Oversee application change, release and deployment activities.
  • Manage third-party suppliers and support partners, ensuring service levels are achieved.
  • Produce operational reporting, KPI dashboards and service performance updates.
  • Ensure applications remain secure, supported and compliant with governance requirements.
  • Support application lifecycle activities including upgrades, enhancements and retirement planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across support processes, tooling and automation.
Experience Required
  • Proven experience within Application Support, Application Management or IT Operations environments.
  • Experience supporting business-critical enterprise applications.
  • Strong incident, problem and change management experience.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and outsourced service providers.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working within regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL service management principles.
  • Experience leading or mentoring support teams and matrix-managed resources.
Desirable
  • Financial Services or Insurance sector experience.
  • Experience supporting Front Office, Trading, Revenue Generating or Operational applications.
  • Exposure to cloud-based platforms and modern application environments.
  • ITIL certification or equivalent service management experience.

Syndicate Reporting Manager London | Hybrid – three days per week in the office £85,000–£95,000 plus bonus and benefits Arthur is partnering with a growing specialty insurance and reinsurance business to appoint a Syndicate Reporting Manager. Reporting to the Head of Reporting, this is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Senior or Syndicate Accountant ready to step into their first management position. The role combines hands-on Lloyd’s reporting with the opportunity to improve processes, strengthen controls and help build a standalone reporting capability. You will take ownership of key reporting deliverables while managing and developing one direct report. Key responsibilities Own month-end reporting, management accounts and supporting schedules. Prepare and review syndicate management accounts, including analysis of underwriting performance and movements. Produce Lloyd’s returns, including QMA, QMB, Flash reporting and annual returns. Support Solvency UK and wider regulatory reporting requirements. Play a central role in preparing the syndicate annual report and financial statements. Own key balance-sheet reconciliations and ensure reporting outputs remain audit-ready. Investigate and resolve reporting and data inconsistencies across different systems. Work closely with actuarial, underwriting, operations and other finance stakeholders. Manage third-party providers supporting syndicate accounting, monitoring delivery against agreed standards. Act as a key point of contact for external auditors. Strengthen reporting processes, controls and documentation. Identify opportunities to automate reporting and reduce manual intervention. Help bring greater ownership of Lloyd’s reporting capability in-house. Manage and develop one direct report. Candidate profile ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant. Strong experience within Lloyd’s syndicate accounting or reporting. Hands-on experience producing Lloyd’s returns, particularly QMA and QMB. Good knowledge of syndicate management accounts and financial statements. Understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS and regulatory reporting requirements. Able to analyse and clearly explain financial and underwriting movements. Comfortable working in a growing, lean and hands-on environment. Strong attention to detail, financial control and delivery. BI/Data Engineer As a BI/Data Engineer, you will provide specialist technical expertise to develop, enhance and support our outbound bordereaux reporting solution. Working closely with the Actuarial, Product, Data & MI teams, you will improve data quality, implement new reporting requirements and automate manual processes to deliver accurate, timely and efficient bordereaux submissions to our capacity providers. You will take ownership of understanding the existing solution, analysing business requirements, developing robust data validation processes and delivering scalable reporting solutions while ensuring knowledge is documented and transferred at the conclusion of the engagement.   Essential Experience Proven experience developing bordereaux reporting solutions within the insurance industry. Strong experience as a BI Developer or Data Engineer. Hands-on experience working with the Acturis back-end database. Advanced SQL skills including stored procedures, views, query optimisation and performance tuning. Experience building ETL solutions using SSIS or equivalent technologies. Knowledge of delegated authority reporting, including premium, claims, risk and reinsurance bordereaux. Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Excel and reporting technologies. Understanding of Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD principles. Knowledge of data quality, validation and data governance practices. Experience within the London Market and/or Lloyd's insurance market.   Rate: £500 - £550 P/D Outside IR35 Location: London/WFH Hybrid Contract Length: 3 months Start Date: Late August/early September
