Claims/Senior Claims Handler - Casualty Our client, a highly regarded insurer operating within the Lloyd's and London Market, is seeking a Claims Handler - Casualty to join their growing claims team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling claims arising from Casualty lines of business, ensuring the effective servicing and settlement of claims within their delegated authority. Working closely with senior claims professionals and claims management, they will maintain the highest standards of technical claims handling, stakeholder management and customer service. Key Responsibilities Manage, assess and adjust assigned claims, ensuring coverage is accurately assessed and reserves are appropriately set and maintained. Proactively manage claim files, ensuring all documentation is accurately maintained and claims are regularly reviewed, diarised and progressed. Handle claims promptly, fairly and with integrity in accordance with internal claims management procedures and industry best practice. Work collaboratively with claims management and colleagues on individual claims and complex cases as required. Receive ongoing coaching and support from experienced senior claims professionals. Maintain effective communication with claims management and underwriting teams, ensuring significant claims developments and emerging trends are shared promptly. Ensure large loss information is escalated appropriately and that reporting requirements are met in a timely manner. Liaise with key internal stakeholders, including Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial and Reinsurance teams. Attend market and claims-related meetings as required. Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, policyholders and other key stakeholders. Collaborate with colleagues across regional and international offices where required. Support reinsurance-related activities and queries as necessary. Ensure compliance with Lloyd's minimum standards and all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements, including FCA regulations and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles. Skills & Qualifications Commitment to developing insurance knowledge through formal and informal learning, including professional qualifications. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively and meet deadlines. Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Working knowledge of ECF2. Sound understanding of general insurance principles and market practices. Knowledge of FCA, PRA and Lloyd's rules and guidelines. Progression towards or completion of CII qualifications would be advantageous. Experience Required Previous experience handling Casualty claims within the insurance market. Experience operating within the Lloyd's and/or London Market environment. Demonstrable understanding of claims handling processes, reserving practices and stakeholder management.
