A leading and rapidly evolving insurance group is investing heavily in its technology and digital capabilities, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cloud Engineering & Operations Lead to join the business during a period of transformation and growth. Reporting into senior technology leadership, this role will take responsibility for the ongoing development, optimisation and governance of the organisation's Azure cloud platform whilst helping oversee critical technology operations across a multi-site environment. This position would suit somebody who enjoys remaining hands-on technically whilst also influencing technology strategy, architecture decisions and operational best practice.

Key Responsibilities Cloud Engineering & Architecture
  • Own the design, management and continuous improvement of the Azure cloud estate
  • Develop cloud architecture standards, governance frameworks and engineering best practices
  • Lead cloud modernisation, optimisation and migration initiatives
  • Improve scalability, resilience, performance and security across cloud platforms
  • Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code adoption where appropriate
  • Act as the escalation point for complex cloud infrastructure and platform issues
  • Collaborate with technology teams to support business and application transformation initiatives
Technology Operations
  • Provide leadership across technology operations and support functions
  • Ensure service levels are maintained through effective supplier and vendor management
  • Manage relationships with third-party infrastructure, cloud and support providers
  • Review and enhance operational processes, support models and service delivery performance
  • Support operational resilience, availability and business continuity objectives
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partner with senior business and technology stakeholders
  • Influence technology roadmaps and investment decisions
  • Support future technology growth initiatives across Cloud, Data, Digital Engineering and Delivery functions
Experience Required
  • Proven Azure Cloud Engineering experience
  • Strong Azure Architecture and cloud design capability
  • Experience designing, building and improving Azure environments at scale
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking, security, identity and governance
  • Experience with cloud automation and modern engineering practices
  • Strong supplier and vendor management experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable Experience
  • Leadership of IT Operations, Infrastructure or Service Desk functions
  • Exposure to insurance, financial services or regulated environments
  • Experience supporting geographically distributed businesses
  • Knowledge of operational resilience, security and compliance frameworks
Working Pattern Hybrid working with an expectation of 2-3 days per week in the London office. The role will also involve periodic travel to regional locations, including Essex, South Coast and possibly further location. PLease note regional office visits form part of the office attendance expectation and are not additional travel requirements.

Delegated Authority Specialist A fantastic opportunity to join a growing Delegated Authority function within a major London Market insurance business. Two permanent positions are available for individuals with a good amount of DA experience who are ready to take on broader responsibility across the delegated lifecycle. The team is looking for people who can bring both technical DA knowledge and a wider understanding of the London Market. Experience within a business operating across both company and syndicate platforms would be particularly valuable. Portfolio management experience will also be considered. This is a great opportunity to join a developing function with strong exposure to underwriting and senior stakeholders. Key responsibilities: • Supporting the onboarding and ongoing oversight of Delegated Authority arrangements. • Managing activity across the full lifecycle including renewals and offboarding. • Working closely with Underwriters to support new delegated arrangements and existing business. • Supporting the oversight of governance and control requirements across the DUA portfolio. • Identifying process gaps and supporting improvements across the function. • Producing management information and reporting for senior stakeholders. • Supporting the development of dashboards and improved reporting. • Managing issues through to resolution while maintaining strong oversight of risk and controls. • Working closely with Underwriting, Claims, Risk, Compliance and wider operational teams. • Contributing to projects focused on improving systems and the overall Delegated Authority framework. Experience you’ll need: • Around 2 to 3 years+ of Delegated Authority experience. • Experience within the London Market or wider commercial insurance market. • Exposure to both company and Lloyd’s syndicate business would be highly desirable. • Portfolio management experience will also be considered. • Good understanding of the Delegated Authority lifecycle. • Strong stakeholder management skills. • Good analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
