Arthur are partnered with a leading P&I Club as they look to identify a Senior Compliance Analyst with a keen eye for sanctions to join their growing function.

Reporting into the Head of Compliance, you will possess a generalist compliance skillset with the ability to assist the wider team with a range of queries across the Group.

Key Duties
  • Maintaining license renewals, returns and TOBAs.
  • Conducting due diligence and being able to accurately assess potential matches to sanctioned individuals or entities.
  • Reviewing sanctions alerts and escalating potential sanctions matches, conducting outreach to appropriate stakeholders if required.
  • Advising the business by analysing and applying relevant sanctions legislation to queries.
  • Carrying out horizon scanning of emerging compliance risks and regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out testing and delivery of the compliance monitoring plan, communicating findings and remedial suggestions.
  • Supporting the wider Compliance team from time-to-time.
 
About You
  • You will be an all-round Compliance person from within the Insurance industry, preferably on the Insurer side.
  • Comprehensive understanding of sanctions and wider financial crime, with demonstrable experience in providing sanctions advice within the insurance industry.
  • Understand the general principles of the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority regulations and rule books (Regulators of jurisdictions worldwide is preferred, but not essential).
  • Proficiency with sanctions screening software.
  • A real team player with the ability to also work independently.
  • Impeccable communication skills.

This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a business segment with the support of senior actuaries while also gaining exposure to all Reinsurance classes during busier periods. The role includes but is not exclusive to: - Working closely with underwriters on a daily basis. - Produce clear, data driven pricing recommendations and present findings to senior stakeholders through large account case pricing. - Analyse and interpret both internal and external data to create robust pricing models that support business objectives and strategies. - Provide critical pricing portfolio reviews on the quality of risks written to optimise profitability. - Work closely with multiple other teams across exposure management, portfolio management, IT, Reserving and model development teams.

International Reserving Actuary

This a newly created role at a high-performing Syndicate in their Reserving team with a focus on regulatory reporting and SII for international business, with ad-hoc growth projects, loss-ratio planning, and business planning. This role reports into the Reserving Lead and will also work closely with the Chief Actuary, and have support from actuarial analysts in the team. This position will have full ownership over the businesses SII reporting through peer-review work and working with the internal finance and wider actuarial teams. You will also have the opportunity to report findings to the board. Whilst this role will have a regulatory focus, you will not be limited to doing purely that work as this team pride themselves on the breadth of opportunity that they offer throughout the team, and have had no turnover in recent years for this reason. The ideal candidate will be newly qualified with 3 years of reserving experience either in industry or within consulting, with clear prior experience in SII and Lloyd's reporting. This role would be well suited for someone who wants breadth of work in a collaborative culture whilst also having autonomy over the work they do, and recognition accordingly.
