Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial & Employment Disputes

Syndicate Accountant Contract:  12-month FTC or Interim Location:  London (Hybrid – c.3 days per week in office) Start:  Flexible – up to 4 weeks’ notice considered Overview A growing insurance group is seeking an experienced  Syndicate / Regulatory Reporting Accountant  to support increased reporting demands and a number of finance transformation initiatives planned for 2026. This role will sit within a high-performing finance team and focus on regulatory and management reporting across insurance entities. While Lloyd’s experience is preferred, the hiring manager is open to candidates from the Company Market with strong UK Solvency and BAU reporting exposure. Key Responsibilities: Preparation and review of regulatory returns, including  annual, quarterly and solvency reporting Production of management accounts and supporting financial schedules Support year-end reporting processes and statutory accounts Assist with improvements to reporting processes, controls and systems Liaise with auditors, actuaries and internal stakeholders Support ad-hoc finance and reporting projects linked to ongoing transformation Candidate Profile: Qualified accountant or qualified by experience Background in  insurance finance reporting  (Lloyd’s, Company Market or both) Experience across  UK Solvency, regulatory or statutory reporting Lloyd’s returns exposure (QMA/QMB, US/Canada) desirable but  not essential Strong Excel skills; exposure to insurance finance systems beneficial Comfortable operating in a deadline-driven reporting environment

Syndicate Finance Manager Contract:  12-month FTC or Interim Location:  London (Hybrid – c.3 days per week in office) Start:  Flexible – up to 4 weeks’ notice considered Overview An established insurance platform is looking to appoint an  Interim Syndicate Finance Manager  to support regulatory reporting, management information and team oversight during a period of growth and planned transformation. The role will suit a qualified accountant with strong  insurance reporting and financial control  experience. Whilst  Lloyd’s syndicate reporting  is ideal, candidates from the  Company Market  with robust  UK Solvency and BAU reporting  backgrounds are actively encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities: Oversight and review of regulatory and solvency returns Ownership of monthly and quarterly management reporting Planning and delivery of year-end accounts and financial schedules Acting as a senior finance contact for auditors and actuaries Supporting finance change and reporting improvement initiatives Line management and review of junior finance team members Providing day-to-day support to senior finance leadership Candidate Profile: Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) Strong insurance finance background (Lloyd’s or Company Market) Proven experience across  regulatory, solvency or statutory reporting Comfortable managing deadlines and reviewing team output Systems-savvy with strong Excel capability Confident stakeholder communicator

Delighted to be working with a leading Insurance Broker, operating in the London Market, who is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead on Commercial & Employment Disputes. This role will play an integral part in protecting company business and reputation, and will focus heavily on restrictive covenant advice and support across the UK and EMEA. As Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for: Advising on the enforceability and scope of restrictive covenants and providing legal advice, support and tactical guidance on this process. Advising guiding the business in relation to legal risks associated with new hires. Handling competition litigation brought by the company against ex-employees or their new employers. Ensuring effective restrictive covenant protection when the business is acquiring new entities. Representing the business in Court hearings and engaging outside counsel when necessary. Supporting the business on wider litigation/employment issues across the UK and EMEA. To be successful in this role, you will be: A qualified lawyer within England & Wales or similar common law jurisdiction. Ideally 7 years PQE. Experienced in working within Insurance and Broking environments or working within commercial/financial services litigation in Private Practice. Extremely knowledgeable regarding restrictive covenant and competition law, with exposure to team move disputes.
