A leading global insurance and reinsurance group is seeking an experienced Marine, Energy & Terrorism Treaty Underwriter to join its London-based team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-capitalised platform with a strong international portfolio and long-term commitment to the treaty market.
The Role As part of a highly regarded underwriting team, you will be responsible for underwriting and managing a diverse portfolio of Marine, Energy and Terrorism treaty business, working closely with brokers and internal stakeholders to drive profitable growth.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Underwriting proportional and non-proportional treaty business across Marine, Energy and Terrorism lines
  • Portfolio management, pricing, capacity deployment and performance monitoring
  • Building and maintaining strong broker and client relationships in the London and international markets
  • Supporting renewals, new business development and portfolio optimisation
  • Contributing to strategy, market positioning and product development initiatives
  • Ensuring underwriting discipline and compliance with internal and regulatory frameworks
About You The successful candidate will have:
  • Proven experience underwriting Marine and/or Energy treaty business, with exposure to Terrorism desirable
  • Strong technical underwriting and analytical skills
  • A good understanding of London Market dynamics and global reinsurance structures
  • Commercial acumen and confidence in broker-facing environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to operate autonomously

Delegated Authority Data Manager

£600 - £750 per day

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing London Market insurer that is continuing to invest heavily in its Delegated Authority function. The role sits at the heart of delegated operations with a strong focus on data quality governance and oversight supporting underwriting and regulatory outcomes across the portfolio. You will take ownership of delegated data flows working closely with underwriting claims finance and compliance teams to ensure bordereaux data is accurate timely and fit for purpose. The business offers strong visibility genuine influence over process improvement and a supportive environment where technical development is encouraged. Key responsibilities Managing the receipt validation and oversight of risk premium and claims bordereaux Ensuring delegated data meets contractual regulatory and internal standards Monitoring data quality trends and resolving recurring issues with Coverholders and third party providers Supporting underwriting performance analysis through clean structured data Maintaining strong governance controls across delegated data processes Producing MI on data quality timeliness and performance Acting as a key contact for data related queries across internal and external stakeholders Supporting audits reviews and wider delegated authority projects Experience you will need Some experience working within Delegated Authority or insurance data focused roles An interest in data quality reporting and how delegated information supports the wider business A good eye for detail with a logical approach to problem solving Comfortable working with different teams across underwriting operations finance and compliance Good Excel skills and an appetite to build confidence in data analysis Exposure to Power BI or SQL would be beneficial but is not essential This is a highly visible role offering the chance to shape how delegated data is managed across the business while building a strong long term career within Delegated Authority. Sitting within a growing and visible function this role plays a key part in strengthening oversight standards and supporting long term sustainable performance across delegated partners. The position offers exposure to a broad range of coverholders and third party administrators with the chance to influence best practice improve controls and help shape a developing audit framework. It is well suited to someone who enjoys autonomy structured work and engaging with stakeholders across the market. As a Delegated Authority Auditor you will be responsible for planning delivering and reporting on audits across delegated arrangements ensuring contractual regulatory and internal standards are met. Key responsibilities Planning and scoping delegated authority audits across coverholders and third party administrators Delivering end to end audits covering underwriting claims governance and operational controls Reviewing files and processes to assess customer outcomes conduct and compliance standards Producing clear audit reports with practical remediation actions and risk ratings Escalating material findings and supporting resolution through effective follow up Maintaining audit schedules based on risk performance and history Contributing audit insights into governance forums and partner reviews Building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners Keeping up to date with regulatory developments and emerging audit themes Experience you will need Experience within delegated authority audit oversight governance or a related assurance role Strong understanding of coverholder and third party administrator arrangements Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements within the insurance market Clear communication skills with strong attention to detail Willingness to travel for audit activity when required This role offers the chance to join a collaborative team where quality governance and professional development are genuinely valued.
