A London-based insurer is undertaking a significant merger project, bringing together multiple insurance entities as part of a wider group integration.
They are looking for a hands-on Interim Financial Accountant to support the consolidation of financials and delivery of group reporting, working closely with senior finance leadership on a high-profile transformation.
This is a key role within the project, requiring someone who can get into the detail quickly and deliver with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Group Consolidation & Reporting
Consolidate multiple trial balances into a group financial model
Produce:
Consolidated trial balance
Primary financial statements aligned to the future structure
Perform and document:
Intercompany eliminations
Accounting policy adjustments
Support development of:
Group management accounts
Statutory-ready financial statements
Build and enhance Excel-based consolidation models
Technical Accounting & Advisory
Support technical accounting assessments relating to the merger
Document key accounting judgements and treatment decisions
Assist across broader reporting areas (e.g. regulatory, tax, statutory)
Contribute to integration planning and financial governance design
Operational / Hands-On Delivery
Work closely with finance teams to:
Resolve ledger and reconciliation issues
Ensure data integrity across entities
Support audit queries and evidence gathering
Assist with day-to-day financial reporting delivery where required
Experience & Skills
Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
