I’m currently partnering with a leading global Lloyd’s market insurer looking to appoint a Catastrophe Risk Lead to focus on non-natural catastrophe exposure management across worldwide risks.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced exposure management professional to take ownership of a highly visible portfolio, working closely with Underwriting, Actuarial, and Risk teams to support strategic decision-making, portfolio optimisation, and capital management across multiple international entities.
The role will suit someone with strong non-nat cat modelling expertise who enjoys combining technical analysis with stakeholder leadership and process improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading exposure management and catastrophe modelling activities for non-natural catastrophe lines of business across global portfolios
• Supporting underwriting teams with risk assessment, risk selection, portfolio management, and reinsurance placement decisions
• Providing exposure analytics and catastrophe loss guidance to senior management, actuarial, and risk teams for capital setting and utilisation
• Managing the full exposure management cycle including data capture, validation, analysis, interpretation, and stakeholder reporting
• Delivering clear, concise reporting and portfolio insights to both internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting development projects across risk aggregation, pricing, and underwriting tools
• Evaluating and improving catastrophe risk management systems, software, and modelling processes
• Acting as a subject matter expert across non-natural catastrophe modelling and exposure analytics
• Driving continuous improvement across day-to-day exposure management processes
• Coaching and developing junior team members while working collaboratively across wider business functions
What we’re looking for:
• Strong experience within catastrophe modelling and exposure management, ideally focused on non-natural catastrophe risks
• Excellent numerical and analytical capability
• Strong understanding of the (re)insurance industry, particularly within the London Market
• Proven experience supporting underwriting and portfolio management decisions through catastrophe analytics
• Exposure to risk aggregation, capital modelling, and catastrophe risk reporting
• Knowledge of catastrophe modelling platforms and proprietary risk systems
• Programming experience with SQL, R, Python, or VBA would be advantageous
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
• Excellent organisational skills and the confidence to take ownership of key business issues
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
This is an outstanding opportunity to join a highly respected insurer where Exposure Management plays a central role in underwriting strategy and business performance.
If you’re looking for a senior role with strong commercial influence, technical leadership, and genuine long-term progression within the Lloyd’s market, I’d be happy to discuss further.
