Business Systems Analyst who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, operations, and regulation — and wants real ownership of systems that matter?

A well‑established insurance and financial services organisation is seeking a senior‑level analyst to take responsibility for the optimisation and strategic direction of its core business applications.

This role sits at the heart of the organisation, supporting business‑critical platforms used across multiple operational areas. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, IT, data, change teams, and external vendors to ensure systems remain robust, compliant, and fit for the future.

You’ll also play a key role in shaping how automation and AI‑enabled capabilities are adopted to improve efficiency, data quality, and user experience in a highly regulated environment.

In this role, you will:

Application Ownership & Optimisation
  • Lead the ongoing support and improvement of key enterprise and workflow applications
  • Take accountability for application performance, reliability, and lifecycle management
  • Define and maintain application roadmaps aligned to business and technology strategy
  • Champion automation and AI‑enabled improvements to drive process efficiency

Business Analysis & Solution Design
  • Engage stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document complex business and technical requirements
  • Translate business needs into system enhancements, configurations, and process changes
  • Solve ambiguous and non‑standard problems where precedent may not exist
  • Track and report progress across multiple initiatives

Delivery & Vendor Collaboration
  • Act as an SME for key vendors and third‑party partners
  • Lead and support upgrades, integrations, and system changes with minimal disruption
  • Contribute across the full delivery lifecycle: design, testing, implementation, and post‑go‑live support

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build trusted relationships with senior business stakeholders
  • Influence decision‑making around technology direction, operational efficiency, and risk
  • Support adoption through training, documentation, and clear communication

Risk, Security & Compliance
  • Embed regulatory, security, and risk considerations into system design and operation
  • Ensure applications meet audit and compliance expectations
  • Maintain accurate documentation covering processes, configurations, and controls

What We’re Looking For
  • Extensive experience as a Business Systems Analyst / Application Analyst within Insurance or Financial Services
  • Strong experience working in regulated environments, ideally aligned to the Lloyd’s / London Market
  • Exposure to enterprise finance, risk, or workflow applications (ERP / GRC experience beneficial)
  • Experience owning or supporting applications through upgrades, enhancements, and integrations
  • Ability to work across Agile or hybrid delivery models
  • Understanding of workflow tools and no/low‑code enhancement approaches
  • Experience applying automation and AI concepts to improve systems and processes
  • Excellent communication skills, with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders

If you’re looking for a role where you can own critical platforms, influence technology direction, and operate at senior stakeholder level — while remaining close to delivery — this is an excellent next step.
