The successful candidate will gain broad exposure across financial reporting, reinsurance, taxation, reconciliations and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of monthend accounting entries relating to inbound underwriting transactions, covering areas such as earned premium recognition, claims movements and fronting activity.
- Analyse monthly financial results for several entities, reviewing both individual company performance and consolidated group reporting and prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
- Contribute to the year-end reporting cycle through the production of statutory accounts and supporting schedules.
- Prepare indirect and direct tax returns, including corporate tax and insurance premium tax, across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors where required.
- Manage outward reinsurance administration
- Identify opportunities to streamline, standardise and digitise finance processes.
- Build strong relationships with underwriting, claims, actuarial, tax and wider business functions.
You must be;
- ACA / ACCA qualified, or equivalent with 5 years’ relevant experience.
- Experience in an accounting role within insurance
- Reinsurance Accounting experience would be highly desirable
- Strong Excel experience and an eye for digital automation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Fantastic communication skills both written and verbal
