Claims Data Scientist Location: London (Hybrid) Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Our client is seeking a Claims Data Scientist to join its London-based Claims function. This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical and commercially minded data professional to play a key role in transforming claims data into actionable business insights. Working within a specialist claims team, you will be responsible for developing reporting solutions, analysing portfolio performance, identifying trends, and delivering management information that supports strategic decision-making across the business. The successful candidate will combine strong technical data skills with experience working in claims, insurance, or other data-intensive environments. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain and enhance reporting and management information used to support key business decisions. Analyse claims data to identify trends, emerging issues, areas of underperformance, and opportunities for improvement. Design and maintain robust data models to ensure data consistency, integrity, and accessibility. Create and develop KPI dashboards, reports, and visualisations using Power BI. Perform root cause analysis and provide actionable insights to support claims oversight and business performance. Ensure high levels of data quality, accuracy, and governance across reporting outputs. Support system enhancements, data projects, and process improvement initiatives. Apply statistical techniques and analytical tools to identify patterns and support predictive analytics activity. Assist with audits, due diligence exercises, and claims data reviews. Collaborate with stakeholders across Claims, Operations, and wider business functions to deliver meaningful insights and reporting solutions. Drive continuous improvement across reporting and analytical processes. Skills & Experience Required Experience in a Data Analyst, Claims Analyst, BI Analyst, Reporting Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar role. Strong experience with: Power BI SQL Excel DAX VBA Experience using Python and/or R. Proven ability to create dashboards, reports, and management information for business stakeholders. Experience transforming and modelling data from multiple sources. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to communicate complex findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Insurance, claims, financial services, or regulated industry experience would be advantageous.
