We have partnered with a highly desirable Re/Insurer to find them a Capital Actuary to focus on all areas of the Capital function. This is a great opportunity for any Capital Actuary or Consultant to gain exposure to senior stakeholders and exciting areas aimed at capital optimisation. The role includes:
- Development, maintenance and use of the Igloo capital model and standard formula. - Support business planning, risk analytics, strategic/operational decision making by providing insights into Risk, capital and profitability across re/insurance books. - Working closely with Underwriting, Exposure Management, Finance, Claims, Reserving and Risk to support portfolio optimisation, reinsurance purchasing, capital allocation and capital management. - Influence strategy and performance helping to shape underwriting strategy, growth, capital effciency, reinsurance structure, portfolio composition and risk appetite.
Base £100,000 - £125,000 plus strong bonus.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast growing specialty insurance business as it continues to develop its international underwriting operations function. You will take ownership of the operational journey for new MGA programmes from initial due diligence through to onboarding and launch. The role offers excellent exposure to underwriting leaders and external partners across international markets. You will help shape processes and systems within a growing operation while playing a central role in how new programmes are assessed and introduced to the business. Key responsibilities: Leading the operational due diligence process for new MGA and programme opportunities. Managing due diligence questionnaires and leading meetings with prospective partners. Coordinating input from Underwriting Finance Claims Legal Actuarial Compliance and Technology. Overseeing the technical onboarding of new programmes including bordereaux design and data integration testing. Acting as the main contact for MGA partners from approval through to launch. Ensuring programme documentation and executed contracts are complete and centrally maintained. Managing the operational renewal process for existing programmes. Preparing renewal assessments and supporting submissions to governance committees. Supporting improvements across underwriting systems and reporting tools. Monitoring onboarding timelines data quality and processing exceptions. Producing clear updates on programme status risks and outstanding actions. Improving procedures controls and reporting across the underwriting lifecycle. Supporting the transition of newly launched programmes into ongoing portfolio management. Experience you’ll need: Strong experience within commercial insurance operations. Good knowledge of delegated authority and MGA operating models. Experience managing programme onboarding or complex operational projects. Understanding of bordereaux data and delegated authority reporting. Strong stakeholder management and client facing skills. Experience working with underwriting data platforms and reporting tools. A good understanding of regulatory requirements across international insurance markets. Experience within a fronting carrier programme business MGA or specialty insurer would be beneficial.
