We're supporting a leading Financial Services organisation with the appointment of a Business Continuity & Resilience Officer to join their Operational Resilience team.

The company is continuing to invest significantly in resilience capability and is seeking a motivated individual to support the ongoing development of Business Continuity and Operational Resilience practices across the business.

The Opportunity
This role will play a key part in strengthening resilience capability through:
  • Supporting and challenging Business Impact Assessments (BIAs)
  • Reviewing and maintaining Business Continuity Plans (BCPs)
  • Supporting Operational Resilience resource mapping
  • Managing resilience vulnerabilities and actions
  • Supporting crisis management and incident response activities
  • Conducting supplier due diligence activities
  • Supporting resilience governance, policies and standards
  • Delivering business continuity awareness and training
About You We're interested in candidates with experience in:

Ideally gained within:

Technical Accountant (Contract)

Technical Accountant | Lloyd’s Market Insurer | Contract Location: City of London, hybrid Start: ASAP Duration: Likely an initial six months, to be confirmed Rate: Dependent on experience I’m working exclusively with a Lloyd’s market insurer seeking a Technical Accountant to support its UK finance team. The role combines statutory and syndicate reporting, UK to US GAAP consolidation, and the development of finance controls. You’ll work closely with the UK Technical Accounting Officer and have scope to take ownership of technical accounting work from the outset. The role Prepare syndicate annual accounts for filing with Lloyd’s and support statutory reporting under FRS 102 and FRS 103. Own the UK GAAP to US GAAP consolidation walk, including adjustments, postings and reconciliation of results. Identify changes to UK and US GAAP requirements, maintain accounting policies and technical memos, and explain their impact to the finance team. Develop and review risk control matrices across UK finance, including controls over reporting processes and data hand offs. Account for consortium income and expenses, including postings and reconciliations. Support the quarterly UK group flash forecast, monthly ledger activities and other technical accounting projects. Your background You’ll ideally be ACA or CA qualified, with around three years or more of post-qualification experience gained in insurance, either within an insurer or a leading audit and accounting firm. You should be comfortable working through technical accounting issues independently, translating conclusions into accurate postings and reporting, and communicating clearly with colleagues across finance. Experience of Lloyd’s syndicate accounts, UK and US GAAP differences, or finance controls would be particularly relevant.

I am supporting a highly regarded insurer with a key hire within their growing portfolio management team based in Leeds. This is a broad position that will assist with portfolio performance, underwriting strategy and data-driven decision making whilst working with stakeholders on a range of classes including Cyber, Property, Professional Indemnity (non-Lloyd's). The ideal candidate will either be a graduate from a numerical degree or a pricing actuarial student with up to 2 years of experience within general insurance, experience in data extraction and manipulation, and confident working with stakeholders. This role is based in Leeds and you will be required to be in the office for 2 - 3 days a week.
