We're partnered with an international London market Insurer operating within Lloyd's on the search for a Finance Manager to deputise the Corporate Controller to ensure accurate recording of expenses, allocation of cost and oversee the Accounts Payable team. Responsibilities will include; Lead the monthly financial close for LISL, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and preparation of management accounts with insights. Prepare and review key accounting entries, including service fees, payroll journals, IFRS 16 leases, IFRS 2 equity compensation, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets. Oversee balance sheet integrity through review of bank reconciliations and monitoring of internal finance policies and procedures. Manage accounts payable, employee expenses, and administration of banking and credit card activities. Monitor and manage LISL cashflow requirements and support annual G&A budget preparation. Prepare annual IFRS financial statements and act as the primary liaison with auditors, ensuring timely provision of documentation. Handle corporate tax, deferred tax, and payroll-related filings, including quarterly tax provisions, PAYE settlement agreement, and coordination with external tax advisors. Deliver ad hoc financial analysis, cross-departmental projects, and continuous improvement of finance systems, including effective use of the Concur expense and invoice platform. You must be; Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years PQE (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Experienced in working within a finance role in the Insurance market Demonstrable expertise in financial close process, bank recs, fixed assets, accruals and prepayments Proficient in working in a multi-currency environment Desire to motivate and lead a team, ensuring accurate and timely deliverables and provide training and development Excellent communication skills Salary on offer is up to £93k excellent bonus, comprehensive benefits and hybrid working (3 days in the office per week) Please apply now to be considered.

We are entering the exciting phase of optimisation, where processes are being challenged, and then enhanced, so this is a great opportunity for those who have a continuous improvement mindset and can hit the floor running. A role you will love This role contributes to ensuring the month-end processes are run in an efficient and effective manner, that the group timetable is met and our outsources deliver against its SLA’s and KPIs. The role is responsible for accounting processes; preparation of manual journals, review of sub-ledger accounting processes prepared offshore, and month end close reporting to group. The successful individual will ensure that there is clear, complete and accurate documentation that covers all the relevant deliveries defined in the project scope and will support the team with the on-time completion of deliverables and governance. Key responsibilities Preparation of manual journals for the month end financial close to agreed month end timetable and group playbook requirements in Oracle. Monitor the quality and timeliness of offshore sub-ledger transaction processing. This will include quality assurance reporting and feedback to management Preparation of accounting processes such as balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations to agreed month end timetable and group playbook requirements. Support the integrity of balance sheets; ensuring any queried items are managed on an ongoing, timely basis. Contribute to process improvement initiatives within scope of work. Respond to queries from key stakeholders in a timely and professional manner   What will you bring to the role? This opening requires a finance professional with 1-4 years’ experience in an accounting role, ideally from a large, complex and global business. On the job training will be provided, but it is essential to have knowledge of accounting standards and financial accounting terms. Key attributes Maintaining and reviewing excel based reports, producing reports and journal calculations, reviewing reconciliations and analysing information, as well as suggesting process improvements. Ability to perform your tasks efficiently, accurately and effectively is critical in this role as there are several deadlines. The role will be responsible for meeting these deadlines, providing timely support to the offshore team and supporting the team in meeting deadlines. Addressing any month end issues with sound resolutions using your well-developed accounting knowledge and skills Experience of using complex financial systems (Oracle EBS essential) alongside MS Office and Excel are a must. Strong communication skills are required as this role will involve partnering with numerous internal and external stakeholders, including tax, audit and our offshore team amongst others

Supporting Syndicate Reporting To provide support to the team, as required, to meet Lloyd’s submission deadlines Onboarding Liaise with Business Development for the financials of (prospective) new clients Liaise with banks to ensure documentation and Know your Customer (KYC) completion runs smoothly Expenses and Interest Liaise with Syndicate Accountants to provide monthly expense and investment return reports to management Providing Non-Tech balances to Ops for use in internal board summaries Banking Admin Main point of contact for online banking enquiries  Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Excellent understanding and knowledge of fundamental accounting principles. Qualified in a professional qualification or qualified by experience is preferable. Familiarity and experience of Insurance or company analysis. With an FP&A or Treasury background. Excellent knowledge of IT systems including Excel, Vision and Sun Accounts. Highly numerate and ability to produce consistently accurate and analytical work to tight deadlines Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
