I'm currently working with a leading global insurer seeking a Cat/ Exposure Developer to join a growing Analytics & Exposure Management function. This is a unique opportunity for a software developer who enjoys building analytical products, working with large datasets, and leveraging AI technologies to solve complex business problems. You'll play a key role in developing next-generation exposure management tools that support underwriting, portfolio management, and capital optimisation across the business. Key responsibilities include: • Building web-based analytical tools to deliver exposure, loss, and portfolio insights to underwriting teams • Driving integration between exposure analytics platforms and modern data lake architecture • Developing innovative solutions leveraging AI technologies, natural language querying, and automated workflows • Supporting the creation of bespoke exposure and financial calculation engines using industry-standard data formats • Working closely with Data, Underwriting, Pricing, Claims, and Portfolio Management teams to deliver scalable analytical solutions • Supporting the development of data warehouses, reporting platforms, and portfolio monitoring tools • Contributing to data quality, reconciliation, and infrastructure enhancement initiatives What we're looking for: • 3–5 years' software development experience • Strong Python skills with FastAPI, Flask, or Django • Front-end development experience using React and JavaScript/TypeScript • Experience building APIs and scalable applications • Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and Agile delivery practices • Databricks experience highly desirable • Exposure to geospatial data, AI-assisted development tools, or insurance analytics would be advantageous • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing business where analytics, technology, and exposure management sit at the heart of strategic decision-making, offering significant scope to influence future platforms and AI-driven solutions.
