This is far more than a traditional adjusting role. You'll work on complex, high-profile losses, collaborate closely with underwriting and actuarial teams, represent the business externally, and contribute to the ongoing development of claims strategy and market relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a portfolio of complex Marine Liability claims from notification through to settlement
Handling large and litigated claims with minimal supervision
Building strong relationships with brokers, coverholders, legal representatives and service providers
Providing technical guidance to underwriters on claims trends, wording issues and portfolio performance
Supporting reserving, renewals and actuarial reporting
Managing delegated authority claims and bordereaux oversight
Working with reinsurance teams on recoveries
Mentoring junior claims professionals and supporting team development
Representing the business at broker meetings, client presentations and industry events
Driving continuous improvement across claims processes and systems
Experience:
Proven experiance in Marine Claims adjusting
Strong expertise within Marine Liability claims (essential)
Experience handling complex, high-value and litigated claims
Lloyd's or Managing Agency experience highly desirable
ACII qualified (or working towards)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Commercial awareness with the confidence to make sound technical decisions
