Head of Sports, Media & Entertainment Underwriting

We are currently working with a leading insurer to recruit a Head of Sports, Media & Entertainment Underwriting to lead and develop a specialist underwriting portfolio.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the underwriting strategy and growth of the Sports, Media & Entertainment portfolio
  • Underwrite complex new business and renewal opportunities across the sector
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients and key market stakeholders
  • Manage portfolio performance, profitability and underwriting standards in line with business objectives
  • Identify opportunities for growth and develop new products and propositions within the sector
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders across claims, actuarial, operations and distribution teams
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to underwriting colleagues
Experience required:
  • Proven experience underwriting Sports, Media & Entertainment business
  • Strong technical underwriting background with experience managing complex risks
  • A track record of developing broker relationships and generating profitable growth
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to build and execute underwriting strategy
  • Experience leading teams or acting as a senior technical referral point
  • The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial underwriting environment
