Arthur is partnering with a leading specialist insurance group to appoint a Digital Engineering Lead as part of a significant investment into its digital and technology capabilities.

This is an opportunity to join at an exciting stage of transformation, with a substantial pipeline of digital engineering work ahead and a major focus on developing modern eTrading and digital insurance products.

The Role
You will take technical ownership across the design and development of modern digital products, working closely with Engineering, Product and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of the Digital Engineering Lead include:
  • Leading the design and development of modern digital and eTrading platforms
  • Building cloud-native applications using C#, .NET and Microsoft Azure
  • Designing scalable solutions using Azure Functions and serverless architecture
  • Developing modern front-end applications using React and TypeScript
  • Helping shape the technical direction and architecture of new digital products
  • Exploring and implementing practical uses of AI within software development
  • Working closely with Product teams to ensure technology delivers an excellent user and customer experience
  • Establishing strong engineering standards across development, testing, architecture, security and CI/CD
  • Providing technical leadership while remaining close to the technology and engineering teams

Essential skills for the Digital Engineering Lead: 
  • We are looking for an experienced engineering professional who combines strong technical capability with a product-led mindset.
  • You will ideally have strong experience across C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions, APIs and serverless architecture.
  • Experience with React and TypeScript is highly desirable, alongside a strong understanding of how modern digital products should be designed and delivered.
  • You should be comfortable working closely with Product and business stakeholders and understand that successful engineering is not just about the technology, but also about the product, customer journey and overall user experience.
  • Experience within insurance, InsurTech or financial services would be highly advantageous, particularly exposure to digital insurance or eTrading platforms.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and practical exposure to AI-enabled software engineering would also be beneficial.

Risk Manager - Insurance & Financial Risk Salary: Up to £70,000 (DOE) + Annual Bonus & Benefits Location: London Area (Hybrid, 1-2 days per week in office) Type: Permanent The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Risk Manager to join a growing Risk & Compliance function within a regulated UK general insurance business. This role offers the chance to play a key part in the oversight of underwriting activities, broker relationships and financial risk management, while supporting the continued development and embedding of the organisation's risk management framework. Working closely with senior risk leadership and partnering with Finance, Underwriting and other business stakeholders, you will provide independent challenge, contribute to risk reporting and governance activities, and support key regulatory processes including ORSA and stress testing. This is a highly visible position combining quantitative analysis, stakeholder engagement and second-line risk oversight, providing excellent exposure across the business. Key Responsibilities Support the delivery and ongoing enhancement of the insurance and financial risk management framework. Assist in the development and maintenance of risk appetite statements, tolerances and limits aligned to business strategy. Contribute to ORSA activities, including stress testing, scenario analysis and regulatory reporting. Provide effective second-line oversight and challenge across key insurance and financial risks. Facilitate and review risk assessments, including RCSA activities and validation of first-line controls. Produce high-quality risk reporting for governance forums, risk committees and senior stakeholders. Build strong relationships across Finance, Underwriting and wider business functions. Support thematic reviews, deep dives and independent risk opinions. Monitor and report risk profiles using established risk management systems and tools. Review and recommend improvements to policies, standards, procedures and controls. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal risk management expectations. About You We're keen to speak with candidates who have: Demonstrable experience within Risk Management, ideally gained within the insurance sector. Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks and methodologies. Experience providing second-line oversight, assurance and challenge. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities. Experience producing concise and impactful risk reports for senior audiences. Knowledge of the UK regulatory environment, particularly within financial services or insurance. The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders. Highly Desirable Experience Experience within a UK General Insurance environment. Exposure to ORSA, stress testing and scenario analysis. Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to lead the finance team. This is a varied role offering exposure to both transactional and month-end accounting responsibilities, including FCA submissions, along with financial planning, forecasting and business partnering activities. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function whilst supporting the wider business with financial insight and operational excellence. Responsibilities; Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors, including insurance and reinsurance audits. The production of monthly management accounts, including P&L reporting, variance analysis and ad hoc financial reporting. Financial analysis of investment opportunities (new product launch or acquisitions), managing asset and cost allocations. Reconcile bank accounts, investigate discrepancies and monitor cash balances. Process and reconcile insurance and reinsurance premiums, working closely with brokers, insurers and relevant tax authorities. Oversee the timely receipt, review and reconciliation of Bordereaux (BDX) and remittance data from Managing General Agents (MGAs), coverholders, brokers and delegated underwriting partners. Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring an accurate and timely month-end close. Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow forecasting activities. Prepare and submit VAT returns Manage the accounts payable function, including invoice processing, supplier statement reconciliations and payment runs. Issuance and tracking of Notices of Cancellation where necessary. Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, allocation of receipts and proactive credit control. Producing premium and claim reconciliations. Preparation of financials for FCA submissions for regulatory reporting Recognise and implement finance systems improvements and process optimisation as the business continues to grow. Build strong working relationships with operational teams, brokers, insurers and external stakeholders, providing financial support and insight where required. You must have; Prior experience within an insurance or reinsurance operation. Strong demonstrable experience with preparing both statutory accounts and management accounts. Experience with running transactional day-to-day finance operations including; AP and AR. Able to confidently work independently in dynamic, fact-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
