Technical Lead – Digital Underwriting London or Manchester | Hybrid (2 days per week in office) | Permanent Up to 100K Bonus Benefits   We are currently looking for a  Technical Lead  to join a  global reinsurance and specialty insurance organisation .   You’ll play a central role in the design, development, and delivery of cloud-native solutions that underpin a large-scale Digital Underwriting platform used across the US market.   What You’ll Be Doing Lead the  design and development  of scalable, secure, and high-performance services for Digital Underwriting use cases, including pricing engines and rule-based workflows. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable  TypeScript / Node.js  code, adhering to best practices. Design and deliver cloud-native solutions on  Microsoft Azure , with a strong focus on  containerised services (AKS) , App Services, and Functions. Use  Databricks  to support data modelling, transformations, analytics, and pricing models. Build, manage, and optimise  CI/CD pipelines  using Azure DevOps. Apply cloud security, performance, and cost-optimisation best practices in a regulated environment. Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and raise overall engineering standards. Lead and contribute to technical design workshops with product owners, architects, data teams, and business stakeholders. Collaborate with globally distributed teams across the  UK, US, and Germany .   What We’re Looking For Strong commercial experience in software development with  hands-on technical leadership . Advanced proficiency in  TypeScript / Node.js . Solid experience delivering solutions on  Microsoft Azure . Experience with  containerised platforms (AKS preferred) . Exposure to  Databricks  or modern data platforms. Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead by example. Confidence running code reviews and technical design discussions. Strong communication skills, able to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Insurance or reinsurance experience is  beneficial but not required .

We are seeking a proactive  Project Manager  to join a  maturing PMO  and support the delivery of strategic change across technology, business operations, and finance. This is a hands-on role in a small, high-performing team, providing structure, discipline, and delivery expertise while helping shape how projects are run across the business. You will work closely with a team of three, reporting to the Head of Programme Management, in a  fast-paced, flat organisation  with  global offices . This is a high-visibility role with opportunities to grow, learn from an experienced team, and influence the way projects are delivered across the business. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & PMO Enablement Plan, manage, and deliver end-to-end projects using Agile or Waterfall methodologies. Establish consistent project practices, documentation, and reporting in a maturing PMO environment. Maintain project artefacts, RAID logs, trackers, and executive-level reporting for stakeholders. Track budgets, support forecasting, and assist with vendor or procurement processes. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work across insurance, finance, IT, regulatory, and compliance teams to capture business requirements and shape solutions. Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clarity and alignment. Support business change initiatives by embedding processes and ensuring sustainable adoption. Change Management & Enablement Assist with training, communications, and adoption plans to ensure changes “stick.” Support people-focused change alongside process and system improvements. Drive consistency and governance where project discipline is developing. Types of Projects Finance system implementations Business process transformation initiatives across insurance, finance, or operations. Regulatory and compliance projects aligned with Lloyd’s of London, PRA, or FCA requirements. Opening new offices globally, including operational playbooks, process documentation, and training programs. PMO process development, including structured reporting, risk management, and lessons learned. Skills & Experience Essential: 5–7 years’ experience delivering end-to-end projects within insurance, Lloyd's of London Market highly advantageous. Strong project management capability, including planning, tracking, and delivering multiple projects. Comfortable working in a  maturing PMO , helping shape processes while delivering results. Confident stakeholder management with experience engaging senior leaders. Work across  core insurance functions,  such as   underwriting, broking, claims, alongside finance, IT, and regulatory teams to capture requirements, shape solutions, and deliver projects that improve business processes. Exposure to finance systems, insurance technology, or cross-functional change projects. Desirable: Experience in fast-paced, flat organisations and global business operations. Familiarity with Lloyd’s of London or regulatory environments. Experience supporting change enablement, training, and adoption initiatives.
