Cloud Engineering & Operations Lead Location: London (Hybrid Working) Travel: Occasional travel to London, Essex and South Coast  Salary: Competitive + Benefits A leading and rapidly evolving insurance group is investing heavily in its technology and digital capabilities, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cloud Engineering & Operations Lead to join the business during a period of transformation and growth. Reporting into senior technology leadership, this role will take responsibility for the ongoing development, optimisation and governance of the organisation's Azure cloud platform whilst helping oversee critical technology operations across a multi-site environment. This position would suit somebody who enjoys remaining hands-on technically whilst also influencing technology strategy, architecture decisions and operational best practice. Key Responsibilities Cloud Engineering & Architecture Own the design, management and continuous improvement of the Azure cloud estate Develop cloud architecture standards, governance frameworks and engineering best practices Lead cloud modernisation, optimisation and migration initiatives Improve scalability, resilience, performance and security across cloud platforms Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code adoption where appropriate Act as the escalation point for complex cloud infrastructure and platform issues Collaborate with technology teams to support business and application transformation initiatives Technology Operations Provide leadership across technology operations and support functions Ensure service levels are maintained through effective supplier and vendor management Manage relationships with third-party infrastructure, cloud and support providers Review and enhance operational processes, support models and service delivery performance Support operational resilience, availability and business continuity objectives Stakeholder Engagement Partner with senior business and technology stakeholders Influence technology roadmaps and investment decisions Support future technology growth initiatives across Cloud, Data, Digital Engineering and Delivery functions Experience Required Proven Azure Cloud Engineering experience Strong Azure Architecture and cloud design capability Experience designing, building and improving Azure environments at scale Strong understanding of Azure networking, security, identity and governance Experience with cloud automation and modern engineering practices Strong supplier and vendor management experience Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills Desirable Experience Leadership of IT Operations, Infrastructure or Service Desk functions Exposure to insurance, financial services or regulated environments Experience supporting geographically distributed businesses Knowledge of operational resilience, security and compliance frameworks Working Pattern Hybrid working with an expectation of 2-3 days per week in the London office. The role will also involve periodic travel to regional locations, including Essex, South Coast and possibly further location. Infrastructure Engineer   A growing Insurer are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of a cloud-focused infrastructure estate, working primarily across Microsoft Azure, Entra ID and Microsoft 365.   Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Engineer: Managing the deployment and ongoing operation of cloud infrastructure Designing, developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Improving infrastructure monitoring and alerting Managing and improving Identity and Access Management (IAM) Strengthening vulnerability management and reducing remediation times Providing technical support and guidance across infrastructure-related issues Working with third-party cloud providers to improve service and support Keeping up to date with cloud and infrastructure technologies and best practices   Essential skills of the of the Infrastructure Engineer: Strong hands-on experience with Azure, Entra ID and Windows Server Enterprise experience designing scalable IAM solutions, including RBAC and access recertification Experience across Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Intune and SharePoint Online Scripting experience, ideally PowerShell Strong stakeholder communication skills Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of technical problems Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience   Desirable skills of the Infrastructure Engineer: Insurance or Lloyd’s market experience Identity Governance platforms such as SailPoint or Saviynt Terraform and Infrastructure as Code within an enterprise environment Tenant integration/federation as part of mergers or acquisitions Basic MSSQL troubleshooting and SQL queries Agile and Waterfall delivery environments   Rate: £550 - £600 P/D Outside IR35 - Flexible  Location: London/WFH hybrid – 3 days per week in London office Contract Duration: 6 months Start Date: ASAP
